Service

How I am involved in service in my community and why these efforts are important to me:

* Well i am from Ethiopia
*I was adopted 5 years ago
and since i have been to the United States, i have seen a lot of incidents happen on kids who are adopted or kids who lost their parents. i have created a website http://we-can-overcome.com/ to help those kids to overcome their obstacles by sharing my stories. i am also in the process of finishing my first Book.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. One example of how I have demonstrated leadership in both areas:

In the field: to be a leader you have to know what your doing and what your talking about and most important you have to hard working. i have served my high school team as a captain for 2 years nd i helped a lot of kids to get be a better as players and as individuals.
*lose or win give respect to the game and the people around it.
*dont settle for a tie.

Outside of the field: Im known in my town "Waterford" kids, adults everybody knows me, i am always trying to help kids who dropped out off school and who are involve in drugs and any kind of bad situation. most kids have listened my advice and tried to change.

How I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete:

How i Pursue my health athletic performance?: i take practice very serious, "practice makes perfect", it doesn't matter if i am with a coach or not, i train every day. i have a soccer field close to my house, i have my on equipments and i go there everyday to work on my weaknesses and i go to the gym.
