Service

How I am involved in service in my community and why these efforts are important to me:

I am in the FCA,FCS, and I am involved in the Interact Club at school. The Interact Club donates our time helping with services throughout our community including job related services at Getwell Road Day School Fall Festival,Palmer Home For Children,The Special Olympics, and House of Grace. My baseball team has restocked a comminity food pantry and worked at a homeless shelter soup kitchen for Thanksgiving. My baseball team is trying to commit to one service activity per month. I was also inducted into The National Honor Society which requires us to preform 24 service hours per school year.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. One example of how I have demonstrated leadership in both areas:

I enjoy working with the community with all my clubs at school and I am excited for my baseball upcoming community services. It is a great way for our team to bond together and more importantly to help others in need.

How I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete:

I am on my High School Swim Team and quialfied for the State Meet and am also currently playing basketball and baseball for my varsity school teams, so I miss out on the weight lifting sessions at school for each sport. On my own I work out with weights everyday during the summer and about 2 to 3 times a week during school sport seasons to keep up and not get behind. I have been lifting weights since the 8th grade on my own at a local gym. I was trianed by a professional weight trianer for 2 years. I also take Advocare vitimins and drink Advocare Recovery 2 to 3 times a day to rebuild any proteins that I may need.
