Service

How I am involved in service in my community and why these efforts are important to me:

I have been a volunteer with the Leesburg Girls Softball league. I currently work part time (up to 20 hours per week) at the Nike retail shop @ Leesburg Premium Outlets. I volunteer at Hillside Elementary School with helping teachers during teacher workdays. I volunteer at the York Springs Fire Company Carnival (helps her grandfather who is incharge of this food concessions stand). I volunteer in the the LCHS concessions stand. It is important to give back to the community that so strongly supports our programs and to reach out to others who may not have the opportunities that I have had in my life.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. One example of how I have demonstrated leadership in both areas:

I serve as a tri-captain of our Fire and Ice 18U team.
I serve as the Secretary of the Loudoun FFA chapter.
I serve on the Loudoun County Athletic Leadership Council.

How I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete:

I try to balance school, work, volunteering and athletics together. I workout with our high school team twice a week, our Fire and Ice team twice a week and work at Nike three days per week (Sunday, Monday and Wednesdays). With our FFA, we have meetings before school and activities (fall plant sale, fruit sale, Holiday shops etc..). All of these things help me with time management. I encourage other athletes to become involved so they can give back as well as be a balanced student athlete.
