I wear #6 jersey for both club and school Volleyball (my senior year 2014 I'll be wearing #16 for school).
As an alternate to the 18-1 National team I was selected to join their active roster during my 17-1 season. I will be competing with the 18-1's June 27, 2013 - July 1, 2013 in Dallas at the 18-OPEN National Championships.
Being a leader is often difficult and sometimes even overlooked by athletes. Â A few weeks ago, a group called Invisible Children came to my school and showed us a video called Tony. Â It was an eye opening experience and that same day, I joined their club at my school. Â I hoped this would be an example for other students to join and help this cause. Â On the court, it can sometimes be confusing to know what play we're doing. Â When our setter calls a play, I always tell my teammates what play we're running so that there is no confusion and everyone knows what we're doing.
After a few minor injuries, I was convinced that something needed to be done. Â I've recently started training with specialists in injury prevention and speed agility. Â I hope this will not only make me more athletic, but also provide the tools needed to prevent future injuries.
I am and have been involved in many organizations aimed at serving my community. Â Most recently is DELTA, a club at my school organized by hand selected students whose goal's are for going out and helping the community. Â We have gone to our local elementary's and will return with gifts for the kids as Christmas approaches. Â Community service to me is showing that you care for the less fortunate people as they are just as much a part of your community as the "popular" kids at school. Â I hope one day, my community will have no poverty and this is why community service is so important to me.
This is a short highlight video of me playing Middle Blocker (#6). At this time my team was the 16-1 National but I was an alternate for...
