How I am involved in service in my community and why these efforts are important to me:

Works as a volunteer for the Countryside Nursing Home in Buchanan, GA.
Works as a volunteeer for the Salvation Army in Carrollton, GA
Reads to children at the elementary level as part of the Senior Beta Club
*I think giving back to your community keeps you humble and appreciative of what you have in life.I am very lucky to have two parents that love and support me but mostly keep me humble and take the time to put their lives on hold to make my academics and athletics their number one priority in their lives.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. One example of how I have demonstrated leadership in both areas:

Was awarded a member of the Champion's Club for no absences the whole summer for workouts. 2011 & 2012.
Has played both ways since 7 years old
Has been defensive captain since 2002-2010
*I feel I set an example by keeping my grades high and being a leader not a follower. I stay away from the negativity on and off the field.

How I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete:

I work out at school and personally at a local gym.
I have a personal speed/conditioning coach.
I have a personal strengthening coach.
I eat healthy to maintain my weight but am not obsessed with it. I think it's ok to splurge when you are in good shape.
I set goals for myself physically. That way, I am always challenging myself.
