Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was one of only 30 students in our high school to be selected to participate in the inaugural Walton Leadership Academy sponsored by Chick-fil-a. We host fundraisers throughout the year for a charity of our choosing. Last year we had a military softball game for the Wounded Warriors Project. This year we are raising money for the VH1 Save the Music Foundation and plan to host a benefit concert as well.

I was selected to join the Walton Sigma Chapter of the National Honor Society. Students are chosen by a teacher committee based on academics (3.8 GPA), leadership, service and character.

I am Co-Captain of my tennis team this season and also was selected to Walton's Sigma Chapter of the National Honor Society. I am also an APSI (AP Summer Institute) Intern.

I help coach a summer swim team as well helping coach and instruct swimmers ages 5 - 18.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I stay healthy by eating right and exercising in moderation. I have never had an injury, I like to think due to the fact that I do not overwork any specific area. I swim for conditioning and cardio, do speed and agility when I can and play tennis (drills and tournaments). I allow my body to recuperate after a big meet or tennis tournament.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Volunteer for local Special Populations Tennis Program, Inc. (Special Pops) which is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization that offers an adaptive tennis program specifically designed to share the lifetime sport of tennis with children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

I have over 180 service hours since freshman year of high school through various community service activities and projects.
