Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I exemplify leadership on and off the track by pushing many athletes, and students away from negative crowds, drugs, etc.and encouraging them in their faith. It is important to me that my teammates, keep their heads up and stay confident..Motivating them to give it it their all, not 100, but 110%. Praying that not just I, but my teammates go far in life as well.! I love my summer track team, and school team, very blessed to have them in my life!
"Wishes don't win races"

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I make sure that grades are my top number one priority. I do know that without an education I have absolutely nothing. If I don't perform my best in the classroom, then I want perform my best on the track.I realize that academics come before my sport. I keep the attitude that if I fail,I get back up and try again. My name Tamar means "palm tree.' Palm trees can weather a hurricane, tsunami or any other kind of storm. The wind blows but the palm tree continues to stand. They bend but they don't break!

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am apart of the Principles Gold Club, representing the girls track team. I was involved in Fellowship Christian Athletes my Freshman year & currently in it now. Also I was involved in Junior Gals my Junior year, currently involved in Senior Women, and The Key Club at Cypress Falls High School. I enjoy helping others that are less fortunate than I am by blessing them financially, emotionally or just by offering an encouraging word!
