Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

In the near future I plan to continue my involvement in Student Council and various church related programs geared to benefit the community. One program that I foresee myself being a part of is the Shallowater 7 on 7 program, it is a touch football league for incoming 5th through 7th grade boys that’s main goal is to teach the basics of the game to these young kids. The best part of the 7 on 7 program is that the varsity football players can volunteer to be coaches so the boys build a relationship and gain a positive role model.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As an athlete I am a role model to many kids in the community and because of that I believe that I should strive to become the person I would want to be my role model. Healthy athletic performance is pursued being a responsible student as well as athlete; I attempt to perform at my peak daily in the classroom as well as on the field. I choose not to drink or smoke and to resist peer pressure because I want to be a positive model for my team and a productive leader on and off the field.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved with several service activates through both school and church. I am involved with Student Council at school, and this year one of our projects was to build a community walking track. I fund-raised and have helped lay out the ground work and the base layer of the track. . I also was a referee in a local youth football program founded to teach kids who have never played the fundamentals of the game. Through church I have been involved with many projects, an example is “The Blitz” which is a program where members of our church go out into the community and give much needed repairs to struggling homeowners who cannot afford to fix their homes. “Share Him” is a program in which the youth group goes early Tuesdays in the summer and does charity work around town and spreads the word of Jesus.
