Peace, Love and VOLLEYBALL :)
Hello, my name is Alexandra Hudson. I play a year up on U18 National for Trinity Volleyball Club. I now train with Optimum volleyball club for Sand volleyball. Pricilla Lima and Dave Carstensen are my coaches. I am learning so much! I LOVE IT!!! Sand volleyball has really helped me improve my defensive/passing skills for indoor. I was on the Ridgewood High School varsity volleyball and varsity basketball team as a freshman and varsity track as the #2 thrower. I am now on the varsity volleyball and track team at Fivay. I have a 3.3 GPA and I want to continue playing volleyball at the next level next year. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxcUm5oDxJJ_3F0XTvuJxXw/videos?view=0
I am ambidextrous, I use my left and right :)

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the court I bring my energy and motivation that has changed the momentum and changed the outcome. I have gone into a match down one and a half sets, and bought fire and excitement to my team in club and high school. I have earned the nick name sparky on the court. Off the court, I have been a role model in the classroom. I have a 3.3 GPA and I am a member of Fivay Relay for life team, I am the Junior Class Rep. I have assisted coaching a 5 and 6 year old basketball team. I was an assistant volleyball coach for 2 U13 teams playing in the mini club season 2012, for Pinellas Heat.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Being healthy is one thing and a healthy student athlete is another. You shouldn't be able to smoke and drink and be an athlete, eventually you won't be an athlete or a successful student. Being a healthy athlete is just the way to go because living a healthy life assists you in becoming successful at life.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer for a local dog rescue, R.U.F.F. I assist the rescue in temperament testing, grooming, training and cleaning. I have been learning how to administer medication as well. It gives me a chance to help defenseless animals and save innocent puppies. I want to make a difference, no matter how small. I also volunteer for Pasco ARC. I volunteer with adults with developmental disabilities. I enjoy spending time with them, they have unconditional love and friendship. I am able to see a different way of everyday life, it gives me a different perspective and view of living through others difficulties. It makes me grateful for all of my abilities and motivates me to share them and help others.
