I am a dedicated athlete and also an outstanding student I have been in the top 10% of my class academically for the past two years and I will graduate with honors. I am truly dedicated and I love to win, pushing myself beyond my limit is what I will do for my team. Fighting till the end is what I do. I will never give up. I have the disipline and motivation to go the extra mile. I am also very competitve.
As the freshman captain of the volleyball team, I learned the true meaning of teamwork. I can do a lot of things individually, but playing volleyball showed me that it's about the team and doing whatever needs to be done to make the team better. Althought it was rough at times I was able to listen to others realizing that some of their ideas were better than mine and not feel bad about taking the advise of my peers, but also realizing that sometimes my decisions would not be favorable and agree to disagree and move on.
Being a student-athlete is very demanding. I've had to learn I need to eat healthy and balance my time in order to maintain my focus in the classroom. Although my schedule is busy I try to make wise choices and whenever I need to snack, I make sure that it is somethig that will benefit me on the court/track and in the classroom.
I am very involved in my church. I am a junior usher, I sing in the choir, I dance on the praise dance team and I help out in the nursery. I want to be a pediatrician, I enjoy working with kids. Working in these areas have shown me discipline and patience. I enjoy giving and doing for others; it make me feel good.
