Other Academic Information
My test scores reflect my first attempts with no prior study. I am taking both the ACT and the SAT tests again and am confident I will achieve better results. In this, my senior year, I am taking four AP classes and honors French IV, which reflect my continuing academic interest.

Personal Highlights

Throughout my athletic career I've dedicated myself to being a hard worker, an easily coached player, and a leader to my teammates. In my gymnastics career I obtained the State Champion title, but fancy titles were not all I took away from the sport. Perseverance, strength, and focus are but a few characteristics which I learned. These have helped me immensely throughout my volleyball career, and have impacted the way i work with not only myself, but with my teammates, and coaches.

Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am the captain of my team this year and I believe I play my part very well. I encourage my team to excel to their potential, and I also know when and how, to get my team focused. As a player who loves to have fun and laugh, I include these characteristics into my leadership style. I am the player who the team can talk to and have fun with, but I am also the player who is respected as a leader. As for off the court, any activity I participate in I naturally step up and try to take the lead. For example when my team was volunteering trying to raise money for our program by working concession stands at a basketball tournament, I was the player directing the team to set up and also to clean up. I helped them get acquainted with their jobs, and with their duties before and after the tournament.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I know how to manage my time. Though athletics is a huge part of my life, I find the time to relax, and the time for family and friends which are my support system for my goals in life. This also keeps the stress levels at a constant low. Outside of the gym when not practicing, I find time to get myself into the weight room to keep up my strength, knowing that it will help me improve my skills on the court. I also maintain a healthy diet to keep my body healthy and full of the energy and nutrients I need. I also take vitamins so my body can reach it's potential level of performance, and keep me healthy year round.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer at the IMHS twice a week, and I am extremely passionate about this service, due to the passion I feel for helping animals. I also volunteer during the summer at the Shaunty Mental Health CO-OP located in Houston, Texas, helping improve the lives of the people there. Also, I've volunteered for the Gold Crown Volleyball program, which is always enjoyable because participating in the sport I love in any way is always great.
