Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

This past April prior to the start of the football summer workout season, I was approached by my head coach Christopher Benacquista to suspend my private gym membership and use the school weight and training center to be a student mentor to the underclassmen coming through the program.

On the field, during the summer 7 on 7 season, Coach Benecquista asked me to run all our linemen drills and linemen challenges while the coaching staff worked with skill position players.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

A healthly performance as a student athlete must have a balance of time management and utilization of the school's student assistance facilities such study halls, writitng centers, and professor's office hours.

Since I have been a student athlete my entire high school career, I have learned to utilize similar support facilites my school offers both prior to and after school hours. I feel that will provide me with the foundation for the transition to a higher educational facility.

By using the support facilities, it has allowed me to concentrate solely on my athletic responsibilities during practices and training session maximizing my potential personally and to the team.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have been seasonally (summer 2012, 2013) employed by the Fairfield Board of Education. My duties are custodial and general maintenance.

Although the position is as a paid employee, I take pride in the fact that the school system which I attended employed me. In turn, the work I do reflects on me personally so going beyond what is expected is important which is why I felt I was invited to return this past summer and for next summer as well.

The positon itself also has provided me the basic general skill knowledge that will be needed later in life as it pertains to use certain tools, painting skills, floor refinishing. Many of these common skills people take for granted but mastering the skills for each is part of the continuing educational process.
