Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As a scholar athlete I led my team with the highest GPA last year. I was able to demonstrate to my teammates that attention to academics was equally as important to hard work on the lacrosse field. Off the field I demonstrate my leadership abilities by working as a camp counselor for the YMCA of Delaware. In this role I'm responsible for the safety and participation of 15-18 boys in various activities each day.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance through three separate ways. The first is allowing myself the time necessary to succeed in my studies and in lacrosse. The second way is that I'm very diligent when it comes to giving 100% in everything I do whether thats in school, in lacrosse, or participating in my other activities. The last way I pursue healthy athletic performance is by eating balanced meals and working out to improve my strength and lacrosse ability.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved with my church's youth group and we do many things for the community such as serving for soup kitchens or raising money and awareness for the homeless in our cities. This is important to me because I'm not doing it for myself, rather I am doing it to help others. This makes me feel better because I get a better perspective of what it's like to not have all the things I do now, and for that I am grateful.
