Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

This season I am a field hockey captain, I try my hardest everyday to help motivate my team whether in practice or games. I am also my varsity basketball team's captain in which i hope to lead and push my team into a win of a league banner this season. In track and field of the 2010-11 season I was the girl throwing captain. Here I lead my team in earning points and giving the other girls tip's and encouragement not only at meets but work out's as well. Off the field and court I help my two little sisters with home work and thier own basketball. field hockey and softball endeavor's.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

First and for most your academic's should only be your main focus, to keep your grades up and engaged in the classroom. To come out as healthy on and off the field I always make sure to eat 3 good meal's daily, and drink a glass of milk before going to bed. As far as your performance you must always try your hardest, like no one was watching and it is just you and the ball out there. To help inspire other's by your dedication and triumph's. Not only inspiring them but helping your team mate's become stronger as you grow as a team, is how i stay on top of my "healthy athletic performance".

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in two of my school's clubs which sole purpose it to help the community and people around the. S.H.O.P (students helping other people) and CV peace. In SHOP we go out and find races and other community events to volunteer our time at. In CV peace we often participate in campus clean up's and community clean up's. We also try to get our school involved with volunteering as much as possible.
