Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Being involved in our school leadership team I am looked upon for solutions to many different situations to make our school a better place for everyone. As a vocal person, I was selected last year to represent our high school at the Toledo Leadership conference and was the first sophomore ever to win the leadership award for our high school that is usually given to a senior. On the field, I lead by example. I work hard and do the little things that need to be done to become a better player. As a pitcher, I want the ball when our team faces the toughest competition. Last year I was the starting pitcher against the top 5 teams in our league.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

First to be healthy, you need to eat right, exercise and get the proper rest. As a student-athlete, I must remember that being a student comes first. Doing what is necessary to be successful in the classroom. I do whatever the teacher ask me to do and to study for the proper test and exams. As an athlete, its taking care of my body. Doing the things to make my body stronger and to perform at its best. I then must take proper care of my body and getting ice and making sure not to do or take anything that can harm my body.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I was a member of the Toledo Youth Leadership team last year where I was involved with other students from other high schools and we did community service projects around the city of Toledo. I've taken some of the ideas and brought them back to my high school and am trying as a member of the Waite Indian leadership team getting my fellow students involved in service projects in our community. It's very important to be involved with your fellow classmates giving back to our communtiy.
