As a team, Ironwood Ridge won the 2008 5A-2 State Championship. I was one of two freshman boys to run at state with the team that year.

Outdoor Additional

My junior track season was very successful. It took at lot of work and effort to come back and find my rhythm after surgery. I put in an average of 40 to 45 miles a week. My best race came at Chandler Rotary, where I decreased my 3200 from a 10:05 to 9:42 in one week.

Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I am the captain of the Ironwood Ridge boys cross country team this year. This means that I am responsible for leading the team during practices and races. I help make sure everything goes smoothly.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I think eating healthy and staying drug free are two of the easiest ways to pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete. Over the years I have found that you get out of your body what you put into your body.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Serving the community is very important to me. I always try to be a good citizen by being respectful to others around me and being active. On several occasions I have volunteered to help friends on eagle scout projects as well as taking an afternoon to walk dogs at the Humane Society.
