Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Being a leader means a lot to me. On the field I lead my team with the pre-game talk and I motivate throughout the game and apply positive feedback to each teammate. Outside games and practice I lead player only meetings and I help my players with problems outside the sport.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

The way I pursue healthy athletic performance is being well-balanced and having good time management skills. Balancing my Social, Academic, and Athletic life is key to maintain a healthy athletic performance. As much work as I put into my academics I balance with practice time, even if it does mean to skip hanging out with my friends. I make sure I do my papers before the turn in date so I am not staying up to late and losing sleep.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved a lot in my community. Last year I did a total of 32 hours of voluntary community service. Some ways I help contribute to the community is walking in many local charity walks, donating my time to the humane society, and assisting hospitals/doctors offices with putting together awareness packets. It means a lot to me to be apart of my community and contributing because a community is a family. When you do something for the less fortunate or for a good cause it puts a smile upon a persons face. It also leads a path for people to follow and may inspire them to be apart of the cause.
