Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been recognized on several occasions for my leadership; most recently I was awarded the Headmasters scholarship award for my Leadership, Academic accomplishments & Character displayed in the classroom, on the field and in the community. I have been selected as Team Captain on various sports teams. On the football field, I make the defensive secondary coverage calls. I also motivate my teammates after a poor play and give positive feedback when they make play.

In the classroom, I set a strong example by being prepared, participating in class daily and setting the right example for my teammates and other students at school. My actions on and off the field have been recognized by my coaches, teachers and administrators at my school, this positive recognition helps provide an example to the younger student athletes at my school.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I ensure healthy athletic performance by training during the off-season, making sure that I fuel my body with a balanced diet and getting proper rest.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

As Captain for my football team, I helped organize a team community service project to support the Ada Jenkins Community Center. We collected personal care items and donated them to the center for distribution to people in need. We also helped clean, reorganize and revitalize several areas around the center.

I also participate in annual blood drives at my school. For me, it's important to participate in events like these to aid my community and help people in need.
