Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the court I show my leadership by being an extension of the coach assuring players in their appropriate positions, running the offence as a starting point guard of the varsity team. Demonstrating leadership off the court as part of the interact club I organized a kids watch night at the school while the parents were in a parent association meeting. All so as captain of the basketball team I run a “captains practice” every Saturday night from 5p.m to 7:15.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

In me being a healthy student athlete I make sure all my priorities are in check before I start anything. Meaning my academics comes first but I still keep my eyes on the prize and the goals that I set for myself. All so I believe in giving it 110% on the court every night rather it’s a scrimmage or a district game. In order to keep striving on the court and in the class room I do stay away from all types of drugs and drinking. These things can only lead you down a path or failure and that’s not what I want for my life.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I'm involved in serving my community by being a small group leader at my church for the past 4 years. By doing this I feel like I’ve made a great impact in the young girls’ life both spiritually and mentally. This is important to me because I believe every young girl needs a role model or someone they can look up to. I’m glad that I can be that one they feel safe around. It makes me feel good about myself knowing I’ve influenced them in the safest way possible.
