Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was a captain three years in high school and led my team. I organized weekly team meetings to go out and eat as a team, and led the offseason A.M. workout program.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by drinking lots of milk and orange juice for breakfast for vitamin C, and I consume a lot of proteins and calories. The day before and day of a game I eat lots of lightweight foods with carbohydrates. No carbonated drinks, or drinks high in sugar except for an occasional powerade or gatorade.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have volunteered as little league umpire for three summers, mentored a troubled child throughout my junior year, and I have also spent time with the young children in elementary school teaching them by reading playing games etc.
