Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by not taking enhancers for my performance, i make sure my body is healthy and i'm not injuring it by playing. I take well care of my body by eating right, not exercising too hard, and icing/stretching my muscles when they are sore so i don't injure them later on. I push myself to my limits and sometimes even further, but when i do i make sure that i take care of whatever is sore or any of my injures. With school however, homework comes first because if i don't keep my grades up in the classroom i can't play and that would be torture. School is an important part of being an athlete as well though because you need to be smart to play volleyball; if you don't have a brain and can't think you are not going to be able to react and read as much as someone else has. Also, school teaches patient and hard work paying off. Balancing practice, school work, and taking care of my body might be challenging at times, but it is worth it in the end because i get the grades I WANT, i play the game I LOVE, and I HAVE the ability through training and taking care of my body to do so.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I help out at my little brother Junior All-American Football Team. I help coach and help out the a.d (Athletic Director) whenever she needs it. It is important to me because these younger boys are the future to our football here where i live, so helping them now will better prepare them for future games and seasons they will be playing. Also,it makes these boys very happy to be playing football and anyway that i can help i am doing so.
