My junior season I had 107 strike outs. I batted over .300 and also played 1st base.
This summer my select team won the 17U AAU National Championship. I was elected to the AAU National Championship All-Tournament team in Ft. Meyers, Florida. I also batted .450 in the national tournament.


Sophomore Year: 2nd team all district/ Newcomer of the year
Junior Year: Defensive MVP-Pitcher

How I am involved in service in my community and why these efforts are important to me:

I live in a small community which thrives each week on our sports. As a varsity team member my community looks to me and my fellow teammates to represent our town and show what great people come from Cameron, Texas and what a great school we attend. The elementary school children look up to myself as well as my other teammates and I feel it's very important to show them how being a team player, team leader, making good grades, staying focused, and out of trouble is important in becoming successful in life. I serve my community by being the best student, team player, and role model for the younger students, and serving actively in my church All Saints Episcopal.

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. One example of how I have demonstrated leadership in both areas:

When I am on the baseball field or football field I let both teams know why I am there and that I have faith in my team. I constantly have a positive attitude during all my games and I constantly give positive feedback and advice to my teammates. I encourage them even when we are losing or bad plays are made. When I am in the classroom I like to prove to people that as an athlete I will strive to be the best student in the class for myself and my future as well as for my teammates and my community who rely on me to do my part on and off the field.

How I pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete:

I eat healthy and work out everyday. I perform my exercises and weight training appropriately to refrain from any injuries during training or my games. I listen to my coaches and their advice in my performance and plays. I visit my team trainer on a regular basis to help keep my muscles and body healthy while on and off the field. I listen and take to heart the advice given to me by my coaches, trainer, and teammates to not only keep myself safe and healthy on the field, but for my fellow teammates and opposing team players as well.
