Personal Highlights

I have played soccer for the majority of my life as it is something that is challenging, exciting and offers great rewards of satisfaction. I currently play for Huntsville High School and in the South Texas Youth Soccer Association on the division II level. Last year we made it to state playoff and came in second. This year we won the state championship! I am looking to continue soccer in college and study finance, business or engineering.

Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Student athletes have to set an example by being a strong leader on and off the field. This is critical as other students may be looking at your actions on different issues and basing that on standards that they should be following. All student athletes should be helpful in all aspects of education and athletic experiences to help in the development of future student athletes. We should be the bookends to keep all others from falling and be solid and supportive at all times.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Healthy athletic performance means being balanced on and off the field. Balance is carried from the playing field to the classroom and giving respect to all coaching staff and faculty to show that you appreciate every ones efforts and support. Performance in the class is just as satisfying to a student athlete as it is win games, as it’s a win win situation for everyone when we are successful.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am a member of the walker county 4-H broiler club. I have raised broilers for the past 7 years. Through this club we do various work. At christmas we make cards for the local nursing home patients, We also raise money by collecting cike taps for cancer treatments. I have done this on my own for several years and donated them through Sam Houston State athletic Dept. with Mrs. Thompson.
I like to help people.
Also in 4-H we do alot of work at the fairgrounds getting pens set up for the fair. As one of the older members I help the younger member and show them how to use tool and set things up. I enjoy teaching them how to do things and explain why what we do is so important
