Currently playing shortstop for Chesapeake College in Wye Mills MD. I am in my sophomore year of this two year school and looking to continue my softball at a four year school. To see my college stats please go to: http://www.letsgoskipjacks.com/sports/sball/index
I have committed to Chesapeake Community College in Wye Mills Maryland.
I am a leader on and off the field because my team mates come to me with questions and advice outside of practice. To me, a leader is someone who can handle both on and off relationships with team mates. This is what makes a team stronger.
I pursue the "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete by the same way I practice. Not everyone is good in every subject just as if it were a position or a skill. So in order to get better, you must practice. If I am having trouble in an area I usually stay with my teacher at the end of class or end of the day until I am confident I understand. I would also do the same thing with my coach if I can not quite get down a new skill.
I come from a law enforcement background so I became involved in the police explorers program. While involved with that program we assisted in the community with the elderly in addition to assisting the police department in some events (parades, community events, etc). Unfortunately continuous softball training for high school and travel ball made it tough for me to do both so I had to step down.
I also volunteer for a local 8-U pigtail softball team. I assist with player development on the field and offered support in the clubhouse. During their practice I would be on the field and taught the girls the proper way to field a ball and what they should be aware of when certain bases are occuppied, how to play left and right handed batters, etc. The team made it to the playoffs but lost their first game. I have aspirations of coaching some day.
