Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As the most experienced offensive lineman on the team, I try my best to set an example for the younger players on the team by always being where I'm supposed to be, when I'm supposed to be. I also try and lead by example through extra effort and work ethic and by being respectful towards my coaches and team mates.

As a student, I also try and lead by example in the class room and at school. Recently I was asked to participate in a youth leadership program with local business leaders where they spent time teaching several student leaders about how their businesses were operated.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I work out year round and compete on my school's powerlifting team in addition to playing football. As a Christian, I believe that my body is God's temple and that I should take care of it as a way of honoring Him.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I live in a small town where everyone knows everyone and the community is very important. There is a lot of pride in our community and everyone really works to help when there is a need. I volunteer at Church by helping to work with the children and keep the nursery. My youth group at Church volunteers to help the elderly and goes on mission trips. I have also worked for several summers at a youth football camp with my football team.
