Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I feel that one of the best ways to lead others is by example. I am always the first one out on the field and the last one off. During practice and games I give everything that I can. I also try to demonstrate good sportsmanship toward my teammates by cheering on the offense when they are on the field and helping up opposing team mate whom I have sacked or tackled.

I also try to lead my teammates through have strong personal moral and character. I feel that even as teenagers we are very much responsible for our own personal decisions. I make a point making decisions keep me out of trouble, not lead to trouble.

Academically, I always make a point of strong class room leadership by engaging in the class discussions, speaking opinions and assisting other in the learning process. When we have class projects I take my portion of the work very seriously and always do what every I can to make sure the team succeeds.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Participation on football is a year round activity. During the season we have daily practices and conditioning. After the season is over from December to July, I train in the school weight room, and starting my Junior year I trained with a personal trainer 6 days a week working on speed, strength and agility training.

I believe in eating healthy and staying away from any type of drugs and alcohol so that I am the best that I can be.

I also think that the team atmosphere is one of the most positive influences in my life. I have made lifelong friends through football. Participating in a sport where I am not just competing for my self but for all the other members of my team. This is such a healthy motivation because it give a greater purpose to giving my best in the sport.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I have over 120 volunteer service hours at the VA Hospital in Tucson. I work directly with hospitalized veterans in the patient escort department. We assist patients in wheel chairs to their appointments throughout the hospital and help to improve moral by engaging them in polite conversation. We also transport hospital supplies and equipment as needed. I also assist our pastor as an alter server at weekly mass.

As a member of the National Honor Society, I have participated in several cancer walk as a volunteer for Relay for Life and a walker in the Tucson 5k Breast Cancer walk.
