Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Even if I'm playing that day or not I always try to help warm players up or shag foul balls. It's just as important to lead by example and help the team out. My best moment in baseball was playing a charity game for the inner city kids of Chicago. We donated gear and raised money so they could purchase uniforms. Made me appreciate the things I have.Off the field I try to help the single parents and elderly people in our neighborhood out. I do chores for them and take care of their pets if they aren't able to.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

You are always a student first who has the privilege of playing a sport. You must work equally as hard in both and maintain a good balance. If you keep the respect for both in check you should be in good shape. I try to workout and eat right and commit totally to baseball and academics. Main thing is avoiding negative activity which would be harmful to my future.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Helped The Toys for Tots toy drive and collected coats and can goods for people who were in need.
Helping those in need is something that comes easy even though at times my family has been hit hard too.
