Personal Highlights

I have been playing golf since I was 12. I love to play golf and I dedicate all of my time and effort to getting better. I am very involved with clubs around my school. I love to volunteer around the community. I am a very hard worker and will work till I achieve all of my goals. I am open to learning knew things and am a very fast learner. I am the captain of my high school team. My dream is to play college golf and hopefully go on with my golf career to play on the LPGA tour. I can not wait to pursue my dream.

Thank you for taking the time to watch my video. I hope you enjoy it.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have learned that some of the best ways to show leadership is leading by example, and being a support. When we are on the course I lead by example by always following the rules and showing good etiquette. I make sure that I show good sportsmanship. At practice I always work my hardest to improve and show dedication. I am a support for my team because I always try to help out the younger players. If they ask for help I will always help them to my best ability, When they are struggling I always try to be there for them and to help them out. I am always encouraging my teammates to work there hardest to succeed.
Off the field I show leadership also by leading by example, and taking the initiative to start good things. In school I always follow the rules and show good manners and respect. I get good grades in school because academics are very important. I encourage my classmates to work their hardest to succeed in school. When I go out I always follow the laws and show respect to everyone.
Taking a leadership role is important to me because I want everyone to succeed and without a person leading them and setting a good example this will not happen.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue a healthy athletic performance by never drinking alcohol, smoking, or doing drugs. I realize that all these things can ruin a persons life. If an athlete does any of these things I understand that it will ruin their career and I do not want this to happen to me. These things will never make an athlete play better. I have pledged to never do any of these things because all they can do is bad. There is no good in any of these.

I also pursue a healthy athletic performance by eating the proper foods and drinking the proper things. I workout everyday so i can have a healthy body. I know that a healthy body makes a healthy life and this can help me to perform better. I make sure that I do not eat foods that are bad for me. I also do not drink soda or energy drinks. These things do not help maintain a healthy body. I know that I do not need these.
A healthy body is one of the most important thing to pursue a healthy athletic performance. If an athlete smokes, drinks alcohol, does drugs, or fuels their body with the wrong thing they will not be able to pursue a healthy athletic performance. I make sure I do not do any of these things because all they can do is make an athlete perform worse.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Every week I volunteer at a nursing home in my community. This is important to me because i see the joy on the residents faces. Not all the residents have family and visitors so I try to help make them happy and feel important. I love to see how happy they are and that is why it is so important for me to continue going to volunteer.

I also volunteer at a thrift shop in my free time. The thrift shop I help at uses their profits to help women who are struggling. I believe it is very important to give back to the community and give these people a second chance.

Also I am involved in service organizations in my school. I am a member of a club called lifesavers. In lifesaver we go out into the community and promote a healthy drug and alcohol free lifestyle. We also do many volunteer projects to help out people in our community. Recently we went to a nursing home and played bingo and sang songs to the residence. This was a great opportunity. The smile on the residence faces shows how much the little things can effect people. I am also involved in a service origination at my summer camp, Camp Ondessonk in Southern Illinois. The Organization is called Lodge. In Lodge we go out into the community and do as many service projects as possible. we have raised money for the poor, collected food for food bank, visited the nursing homes and much more. I have learned that not everyone in the community is as fortunate as the rest and it does not take much to help the less fortunate out. This is important to me because I love to see everyone in the community happy and to succeed. I have learned that the little things make the biggest difference. No matter what it is, any service work in the community can lighten up a persons life. These programs have changed my life forever because I now realize how lucky I am and that a little help goes a long way.
