Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the field, I am very persistent in making sure that my team is prepared and ready for games as well as practices. This may just be a simple pep-talk before a game or constantly encouraging others to work hard and continue on, even if they make a mistake. I push everyone to do their best, both on and off the field. In other aspects besides field hockey, I am always the one to take extra shifts, solve customer poblems, and helping with anything extra at the restaurant. Also, in school, I tend to help other students with their work when they are having trouble, such as explaining a math lesson that we had learned the previous day.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

During the season, as well as the off-season, I try to eat as healthy as possible. At home, I make sure there are no unhealthy snacks, candy, or other unhealthy foods that I could be tempted to eat. I think it is very important to stay healthy and stay in shape because that contributes tremendously to the game when you play. Even during the off season I try to stay in peak- shape, since I play field hockey all year round, because if I am not, I see the difference of when I play. I always try to make the healthy choice whether eating at home, or at a restaurant and barely eat anything that I know is bad for my body. Also, I do not take part in any drinking activities or drugs.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I volunteer annually at the Upper Raritan Water Association's county fair as well as contributing to environmental projects, such as recycling and composting for my school's Green Team. This is important to me because I enjoy helping others and especially at the fair, it makes me happy to know that I am taking part in a family activity and helping out younger children.
