Rowing Honors

I received Most Valuable Oarswoman 2 years in a row. I was awarded it for the middle school sculling program then for my first novice season. I was invited as a novice to row in the Head of the Charles. I was captain of the womens' squad for the 2014-2015 season and will be captain again for the 2015-2016 season. I also recieved Most Valuable Oarswoman again for the vasity squad 2014-2015.

Rowing Additional

I did the middle school program fall and spring seasons for my eighth grade year (2011-2012). For the fall of 2012 I wanted to try marching band, so I did one season of that missing what would have been my first novice season. From that experience, I decided that rowing is the sport for me. So I went back to SA and joined the novice women squad for winter conditioning, spring season, and fall season of 2013. My first head race was at the Head of the Charles in fall of 2013 because I was invited by varsity to be in their eight. We placed 59th out of about 85 boats in the Women's 8 event.

In February, 2014, I went to the ID camp in Winter Park, FL. I was invited to the development camp over the summer but decided to stay home and do a camp in Georgia due to expenses and the chance to race. I did the Atlanta High Performance camp summer of 2014 racing at southeasterns in Aiken, SC, and Club Nationals in Oak Ridge, TN.

In my single at Club Nationals I got the second overall time in time trials, first in my semi final, and fifth in the final.

Instead of 5ks we do 4ks on the erg as our tests and my PR is 15:47.

Other Academic Information
I am the president of the Odyssey of the Mind club at my school. We compete in the spring and my team went to Worlds when I was in 8th grade. We have gone to state every year since then. I was inducted in to National Honors Society at my school in the spring of 2015. The requirement to be invited to apply was at least a 3.8 weighted GPA. I applied and my application was considered with everyone else's by the teachers. They look for the best leaders of the upcoming senior class to induct into NHS and I will be a tutor for underclassmen my senior year.
