Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Since I'm only a sophomore as I am writing this I haven't had many chances to be a leader in my high school sports team. Although I am put in relays for track and since I am generally the fastest I help lead my team and try to keep everyone positive as much as possible. Off the field as I said in the previous paragraph I am a youth-worker so I am constantly a leader in those kids as well as the kids that I help coach.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I do everything naturally when it comes to athletics. I would never even consider using any type of synthetic physical enhancement. I do everything the old fashioned way with good lifting, good core work outs and cardio work.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I work for a non-profit organization called Youth Farm and Market Project where we teach kids about organic food and sustainably grown food. We also teach about the importance of buying local food and eating healthy. We have urban gardens in the Lyndale neighborhood of Minneapolis. I love working there and I enjoy being a role model to the kids. I also help coach at the park board I learned to wrestle at, Longfellow park in Minneapolis. There I help be a role model the female wrestlers as well as the boys can look up to and I love it.
