Volleyball Additional

For most of the regular season we ran a 6-2 offense. When the game was on the line the coach switched us to a 5-1 offense with me setting. In all post season matches (district championship, regional championship and all 3 matches at State) I ran a 5-1 offense.
I have strong leadership skills and play with heart as well as my brain and athletic ability. I have an understanding of the court that most don't seem to-- it just comes natural to me. I want to play at the college level- key is that I want to play. I want to be a part of a team that has a positive attitude and gets along on and off the court. I am willing to work hard to achieve goals.
I would like to play college volleyball and study at a school with a communications program.

Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I served as a team captain for my club team this year. Regardless of the fact I was the youngest one on the team, my teammates still looked to me for guidance and leadership on and off the court.

This summer I served as a camp counselor at church camp at Silver Lake. This was an entire week of being in charge of a group of 10 4th and 5th grade girls.

I am also involved in Link program at Kamiakin high school. This is a leadership program that is involved in the school and community.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I help teach a Sunday school class of 2nd-3rd graders at our church. I also lead worship for all the elementary age children. I am leading worship for the church Vacation Bible school this summer as well. I am involved in Link at Kamiakin high school which is a leadership and community involvement program. I feel that it is important to be apart of the community and help get involved when you can.
