Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
-
Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

My definition of healthy athletic performance includes:

  • Maintaining a proper balance between workouts and academics; athletic success can't be at the expense of my academics
  • Establishing the right eating habits; avoiding crash weight loss, dehydrating or other techniques to make weight
  • Establishing realistic goals and using the right workout routines to achieve them; there are no short cuts
Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

Senior Technology Assistance Group - This is a group I developed to provide free computer tutoring to seniors, focusing on email, web browsing and social media to encourage them to use technology to stay closer to friends and family.

Youth Ministry - I am very involved with all activities sponsored by the DBPYM which includes volunteering at local soup kitchens, organizing holiday food drive and serving at school sponsored Masses; this is a simple and direct way of giving back to those with less, but mostly during the holidays when this means more.

Habitat for Humanity Club - HFH is a new club at DBP and is another way to have a direct impact in our community. The club hosts a number of fundraisers and participates in local building events. After hurricane Sandy, the club is more active with a growing membership.
