Coach Tobey White Player Summary:
As a junior and batting in the lead-off position, Niko led the league in runs scored, hits, doubles, and at bats (6 K's) and 2nd in stolen bases. He was team leader in runs scored, stolen bases, hits, doubles and at bats. As a sophomore in the overall league, he was 2nd in runs scored, 3rd in total hits, and 3rd in stolen bases. He was team leader in hits, runs scored and stolen bases. He has never been thrown out by a catcher. Niko is a versatile player who can be utilized at a number of positions because of his speed, game sense and defensive abilities and can be depended upon to put the ball in play. He was our lead-off all year until North Coast play-offs when he was moved to the #3 spot because we weren’t producing runs with runners in scoring position. This move paid off well when Niko produced 5 critical RBIs. Niko has consistently hit well against the top pitchers in our area including Jonathan VanLooy (pitcher, Marlins Organization), Matt Flemmer (BSAL MVP, St. Mary’s HS) and Chris Witschi (ACCAL Pitcher of the Year, Pinole Valley HS). Niko ended his junior season with a 24 game hit streak. He is a team leader on and off the field putting in many extra hours of conditioning and work on his own while maintaining a solid college prep academic record.

Brian Guinn Player Summary:
Niko has great bat speed and stays inside the ball as evidenced by his success at going opposite field. Of Niko’s 18 doubles this year, more than half went to right/right-center. His batting technique is demonstrated by the consistency in which his bat head travels squarely through the hitting zone allowing him to make solid contact and put balls in play. When matched with his speed, Niko is a player to rely on to make something happen when he is at bat whether as lead-off or with men on base. His versality at the plate will be invaluable to a team as he has the ability to bunt for base hits with his speed while also having pop in his bat that teams have to respect. Niko has successfully faced some of the top high school pitchers in the Bay Area and as he has traveled the country with NorCal Baseball.

NorCal Summary
In June 2007, the team won silver (9-1) in the USA Baseball Western Junior Olympics (72 teams) and were 2007 Wood Bat World Series Champions. In October 2006, they won the 16 Elite Division of the Arizona National Fall Classic and Niko played every inning as the starting centerfielder. Niko also competed with NorCal in the 2007 BCS Championship and the team won the USABF Wood Bat World Series in Aug 2007.

American Eagles Summary
The Eagles traveled to Australia for 2 weeks in August 2007. The team went undefeated in the Gold Coast Tournament with an overall Australia record of 8 wins and 5 losses. Niko hit 2 home runs, batted in the high .400’s and played solid defense at second, third, shortstop and outfield. The team was comprised of players from Northern and Southern California and was coached by UC San Diego Asst. Baseball Coach Chad Addison.

Other sports: football, basketball & swimming.
