Tennis Additional

During the 2013 tennis season last spring I finished with a 33-5 for the Pittsburg High School boys tennis team as a sophomore. I began the year 21-0 at No. 2 singles, taking my first at my first five tournaments and made the final of every tournament I played in during the regular season, including at the Southeast Kansas league tennis tournament where I placed 2nd at No. 2 singles. I qualified for state placing sixth at the KSHSAA 4A regional in Independence KS. From there I went to the state tournament in Wichita KS, where I defeated my teams no. 1 singles player, I came within one match from placing at the state tennis tournament, and finished the tournament in the top 13. I then spent the summer season training, and playing USTA tournaments, where I won at least one match at each tournament. In the 2014 season I finished the regular season 32-1, winning the class 5A regional at Mill Valley. I won two matches at the state tournament, placing, and earning All-State honors.

Other Academic Information
I am currently a junior in high school and have received a 4.0 GPA in my past two years of high school. I am involved in seven different clubs/organizations at the PHS. While I am in college, I want to major in Chemistry, and study medicine. From there I hope to gain admittance into a medical school, where I will be able to gain the knowledge, and training needed to become a sports physician. I hope then to practice sports medicine, and ultimately one day open up my own practice.

Personal Highlights

Hello coaches, my name is Adrian McAfee. I am currently a junior enrolled at Pittsburg High School in Pittsburg Kansas. I am a member of the Pittsburg High School Varsity tennis team, and am very interested in continuing my tennis career throughout college. My goal as well as to play tennis collegiately, is to receive a degree in medicine from a University of high academic standards. Currently I have a 4.0 GPA at Pittsburg High School. I am currently at the top of my class academically. I absolutely love the game of tennis, and have spent most of my Summer days on the tennis court, improving my skills. I currently have two coaches, my High School Coach John Seal, and Private Coach Jack Johnson. During my 2013 tennis season, I led the team in wins at 33-6 at No. 2 singles. I received All-Conference, and All-Regional honors, while qualifying for the Kansas Class 4A State tennis tournament. At the State tournament, I came within one match of placing, and was top 13 in singles, defeating my team's No. 1 singles player in one of my consolation matches. I currently am ranked in the top ten in Kansas in boys 16s in USTA. And posted a winning record in singles play. To date, I have not taken the ACT, but plan on taking the exam during the Winter of 2013. I hope this information, has helped all of you college coaches. Please take your time to review my profile. Thank You.

Adrian James McAfee
