Coach Evaluation
I am currently the skills coach for Breen Weeks., I attended Lincoln Prep High School (c/o 1999). After high school I played for 4 years at San Diego State University. I spend the next six years playing professional basketball abroad (Mexico, German, and Philippines). My company, Player Edge, was created with focus on skill building and mental training. I have been working with Breen for three and a half years. Focusing on: Ball handing (emphasis on weak hand) - Attack dribble (drop & push) - Ball control & pressure - Seeing the floor / awareness; Shooting - Catch & shoot (stand still and on the move) - Off dribble (from triple threat and off live dribble) - Shooters mentality (good shot / bad shot) timing / rhythm - Creating space; Quick vs fast; Game mentality / court pressure. Breen’s passion and dedication, hard work, commitment, positive attitude will not only surprise you, it will make you remember why you started coaching in the first place, Improving skills is simple repetition, but repetition with understanding is the key. Breen is a special player, he works harder than any young person I have worked with. He has a toughness that you just cannot teach. I have seen improvement across the board in his game. Breen has shown the ability to improve on his weaknesses, and continues to improve week in and week out. Breen is a prospect that you should follow as he will be a benefit to any Men’s Basketball Program. Breen is ranked #1 for his age group in Complete Basketball Skill Set at Player Edge.

AAU Coach’s Evaluation

I have coached Breen Weeks since the 8th Grade during his summer Club play. Breen is a 6' 3", angular, and tough. He is a guard playing both the 1 and 2 positions in high school. At the next level he will play the 1 guard position. He is a great ball handler with good vision and is unselfish in the open floor. He plays to win and not to pad the stats book. Breen is what you would call a Coaches complete player, from the old school. Breen plays Straight up HARD Defense, he palys the game with heart and passion. he has a good pull-up shot and shoots well off the screen. He has created his own shot. He can back down the smaller player and post up his defender against a man to man defense. This will of course be difficult in college at the high D-1 level with a collapsing defense. Breen is a exceptional well rounded player with a good shot, sees the floor well and is very tough. His top quality is his toughness and competitive nature. He does not back down. On the national level he has played with the best and against the best players that have arrived on the college circuit the last two years, he has done more then hold his own while playing with and against them. Breen is a impact player. He is responsive to coaching and I have found his leadership to be excellent under pressure. His off court behavior is respected by his peers as well as coach’s.

Scouting Report
Breen is one of those players whose complete stats (while outstanding) do not completely reflect the type of player he is and what he will accomplish in the coming years at the college level.. Breen is a versatile offensive player. He’s a shooting guard with the tools too hit the 3 pointer, or drive to the basket and go to the free throw line or pass off to a teammate. He has the ability to attack from anywhere on the court. Great speed, vision and tenacity are a few of his assets. He is usually asked to guard the other team’s most effective shooter and excels on defense. Breen will not only effectively guard the other team’s best offensive threat; he frustrates them, takes them out of their game and usually will have that player in foul trouble by half time. Breen is always mentally and physically ready to play.. Dwight Castimore, Area Scout, 858-205-9940
