Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.
  • Student Council Vice President, youth tennis instructor for York county, HS tennis team captain and strength/conditioning coach.

I am a leader on the tennis team by setting an example of hard work and determination, but I also carry that off the courts by sharing my skills with younger kids and also by getting involved with student leadership at school in order to make our school a place where all kids want to be.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue healthy athletic performance by staying balanced by the things that are most important in life. I love tennis and I enjoy competing against the best, but it never becomes an obsession. When I first started playing high school tennis in 7th grade, I didn't take defeat very well because it didn't happen really against kids my own age. Now I have learned to accept my results because I always give my best.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.
  • Weekly weekend Volunteer at the SPCA in Newport News. I help animals without homes to become family pets. It is rewarding, but sometimes sad because not all the animals are in good health.
