As an athlete I have to be careful about what I am putting into my body. I maintain a balanced diet daily and am sure to stay hydrated through out the day. I know the importance of eating multiple meals a day in addition to several healthy snack and always keep in mind how the food I eat will effect my performance. I am sure to rest and ice any injuries to prevent any long term damage as well as stretch and warm-up to prevent injuries all together. Daily, I take all the necessary precautions to optimize my athletic performance.
I volunteer at an assisted living home for senior citizens. It is important to give back to those that have given so much to us.
I volunteer with the public library during the Battle of the Books Competition. It is exciting to help out the younger students and promote their passion for reading and friendly competition.
I participate in several charity races. These races raise money for various causes such as; breast cancer research, lymphoma & leukemia research, Athletes Helping Athletes, the Ulman Cancer Fund, and local fire and police departments. It is important that I use my running abilities not only for fun and fitness but also to raise money for those that cannot run.
