Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

On the field, I provide leadership in many ways. I am very respectful and am a team player. I show respect to both my team mates and the opponent. I set an example for my team to follow. This shows them, as well as my coaches that I can lead a team. Off the field I show leadership towards a large group of people. I participate and volunteer at West Deptford's Safety Town. This is a program that gets teens to volunteer at help kids going into kindergarten to be safe. I've been a part of this program for almost 4 years now and it shows leadership in many ways. I act as a leader to these kids and show them how to be safe growing up.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I pursue "healthy athletic performance" in many ways. I eat healthy whenever I have a game coming up because I know that it will directly affect me if I eat fatty foods. I also give it my all during practice and other workouts so that I can stay in good shape during the athletic season. Overall, I take good care of my body whether it is eating healthy, or staying in shape, I pursue "healthy athletic performance" year round.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I believe that veterans who have served our country deserve great respect, which is why I participated in the annual Talking Turkey program which provides meals for veterans to those who can't afford them on Thanksgiving Day. On Thanksgiving Day, I spent the early parts of the day delivering Turkey dinners to different homes, families and veterans. This day meant a lot to me because I got to completely respect veterans on a whole new level and I have seen how harsh life can be. Another community service program I did was the Wreaths of Remembrance at the Gloucester County Cemetery. This was a day in which I placed wreaths to remember and honor different veterans who lost their lives serving for this country. Of these veterans, I placed a wreath on the grave of my grandfather and that of two other veterans. I really appreciated this day because it felt nice to show respect for the veterans who served in the war. Overall, I have been involved in my community a great deal and it has had an impact on myself as to why these programs are important.
