2017’s
Briana Trigg 5’10 Strawberry Crest HS- The days MVP, Trigg was compared to Golden State’s Draymond Green by one coach in attendance. Her battle with sister Ayanna was fun to watch. Both played hard each trip down the floor.

Ayanna Trigg 5’10 Strawberry Crest HS- A fantastic athlete with a strong frame, Trigg was a handful in transition.

Samantha Lee 6’1 Northeast HS- A versatile athlete with nice footwork, Lee ran the floor well and displayed a nice baby hook. She also played well at last weeks’ Red’s 64 event!

A few others who caught my eye…

Nicole Carey 5’9 Wiregrass Ranch HS
Tamara Hanson 5’10 Durant HS
Kayla Lamb 5’6 Charlotte HS
Dreanna Neal 5’7 Winter Springs HS
Syanne Rowe 5’10 Heritage Christian HS

2018’s
Misha O’Neil 5’5 Clearwater HS- A quick guard who started the day getting 3-4 uncontested layups from pressure defense. O’Neil played with a lot of energy all three games!

Selena Di Novo 5’7 Mitchell HS- Displayed a quick first step getting into the lane often on the drive, and a nice step back jumper.

Luz Cruz 5’10 Strawberry Crest HS- Already blessed with college-ready size, Cruz knocked down a few 3’s and handled the ball well on the wing facing the basket.

A few others who caught my eye…

Haley Gantt 6’2 The Kings Academy
Nicole Rolon 5’7 Orlando Christian Prep

2019’s
Alexys Mathangani 6’0 Plant HS- A versatile athlete, Alexys was comfortable on the perimeter launching 3’s as well as attacking the lane off the dribble. If she gets in the weight room and puts in the work look out!

A few others who caught my eye…

Summer Quigley 5’11 Seffner Christian Academy
Hayleigh Reeves 5’7 Citrus HS

2020’s
Carley Price 5’2 Alonso HS- This tiny guard continually beat her man off the dribble getting into the lane again and again. Price was a willing passer finding open teammates often. She also drained a few from deep.

Zora Strawder 5’7 Strawberry Crest HS- A high-energy type, Strawder was very aggressive going to the basket. She played with confidence!

A few others who caught my eye…

Nya King 5’6 Bloomingdale HS
Megan Watson 5’6 Strawberry Crest HS

2021
Madison Vaira 6’1 Barrington MS- The lone middle schooler in this event, Madison played like she belonged. She ran the floor well and did a nice job on the boards. Once she adds some more strength, she will be that much tougher to handle!

Ladies,
Your body language from the minute you walk into the gym is very important!

Embrace the weight room. Make getting in the best condition you can a priority!

Thanks to all of the athletes for taking part! Keep working hard y'all.

Thanks to Rob Walker and the Tampa Thunder staff for the invite. I enjoyed the opportunity to see all the athletes, some for the first time.

Thanks to Tampa Prep for the use of your awesome facility!

I enjoyed hanging with friends Coach Momo Dave Morgen, Coaches Chris Springs of HCC, Kristy Ward and Vince Cangelosi of Florida SouthWestern State, Radvile Autukaite of Webber University, Chris Centicola of Orlando Christian Prep and Ron Brown, Ball Rips Net.

Four nights of ball this week in Orlando followed by a trip to Lakeland next weekend to check out Southeastern University and Florida SouthWestern State.
