Falcons Win!
The Falcons beat the Academic Magnet last night 61-60 in overtime in the second round of the West Ashley Tournament. Terrance Sumter scored the winning basket as time ran out. Devin Smalls got fouled while attempting a 3 point shot with 21 seconds left in regulation. Devin went to the free throw line and scored all three free throws to tie the score. The Academic Magnet came down the floor on the next possession and went up by two points with 8.8 seconds left in the game. Tye Grant got the inbound pass and drove the length of the floor and scored a lay up to send the game into overtime. In the overtime period, scoring went back and forth. With 14 seconds left in the game, the Academic Magnet went to the free throw line and went up by one. Eric Jenkins drove the length of floor and passed the ball to Terrance Sumter. Terrance dribbled the ball to the basket and scored the winning basket just as the horn was blowing to end the game. Devin Smalls and Eric Jenkins each scored 15 points to lead the Falcons onto victory. DaQuan West and Terrance Sumter each had 16 rebounds.
