AIA Scholar Athlete 2013, 2014,2015
I have been in the senior group on my club team since I was 12 years old. Qualified and attended Speedo Western Sectionals since the age of 13 and I am currently working on attaining Junior National cuts in several events.
• My aspiration is to attend a school with a strong History major program, while having a strong Education program,
• A swim team that is competitive in their conference. My goal is to help them achieve a high level of success and contribute all that I can as a teammate towards achieving that goal. My aspirations are to help the team achieve success at the highest levels of NCAA competition
• I am a student of the game and a tough competitor, I soak in any and all instruction I can get from my coaches. I was introduced at an early age to the meaning of hard work and success through a strong work ethic and this has supported me towards reaching for my goals
I love the sport of swimming and the bonds and friendships it has brought me throughout my 11 years of competing. I want to continue that trend with being a contributor to a team with a goal of achieving success which is what any athlete works and strives for. But more than that, I want to be part of a team, where we all play a role in helping each other. Swimming can tend to be looked at as an "individual" sport, but I see that in college its more about team accomplishments than personal goals. This is why I look forward to being recruited as a student athlete in college
I have learnt so much over the years from my coaches, and since education is a path I may chose in my life, I would like to take the lessons I have learned and be a high school/club coach after college
Understand the meaning of team. I have been on a swim team since I was 5 and understand the true meaning of team spirit and for "the good of the team"
I consider myself a supportive & caring team member. I always cheer teammates on when they succeed and help them when they don't
I truly love being an active part of a team, that can be accomplished in an individual sport like swimming with the right attitude
I am a student of the game and a competitor, I soak in any and all instruction I can get from my coaches. I was introduced at an early age to the meaning of hard work and success through a strong work ethic and this has supported me towards trying to set an example in a leadership role.
My commitment to the sport and what it brings to my life. I have been committed to my goals to be a strong student and a strong athlete and to reflect to my teammates in the way I go about my daily routines, that we can accomplish success in both areas.
I have a good balance in my life between my love of athletics & studies, but making sure I find the time to be a friend to those around me.
Respect for those around me, that we are all trying to achieve the same goals.
I can be shy at times, but will always be available to be a good friend
I have maintained a strong ritual of proper nutrition, personal training and time management ever since I was 5, as a method to support my goals as a student athlete
I Never give up, I don't get discouraged, I don't stop trying to succeed. If I fall, I learn from it, and it motivates me to do better the next time
No matter what happens to me, I will always love swimming
I am honest and trustworthy,
In all my years of club and high school swimming I have always striven to be the first person at practice and a meet, and the last person to leave. I wanted to show my respect to my coaches that I was ready for whatever event they wanted me to perform.
Volunteer at Senior Living and Assisted Living Facilities;
Train service dogs once a week for several hours to prepare them for integration to homes with disabled and needy individuals
volunteering at the Public Library;
coaching younger swimmers from swim club during recreational summer season .
All of the above services follows a trend which was installed in me by my parents, and that is to always seek out to help those that are in need of kindness, support and friendship.
