My oldest sister played volleyball at Robert Morris University (Alena Esposito), my brother plays football at Wake Forest University, and my other sister plays volleyball at Saint Francis University. I would love to follow in their footsteps of playing at a collegiate level.
On the court, I try my best to lead by example. To show my team that hard work and working together is the key to success. Success may not always be a win but it is the confidence one has that knowing when you walk off the court at the end of the game, you can hold your head high and know that you put your very best effort forward and never gave up. Off the court, I believe my personality, organizational skills and hard work are key factors that represent leadership to my siblings, friends, fellow classmates and people that I meet. I maintain a positive attitude and know that even though things may not work out the way I want, that doesn't mean I failed but it simply is to be taken as a learning experience, one that will teach me lessons for the future. I believe that sharing my smile with everyone I meet is important because that may make the difference in someone's day. I believe that there are many situations where I can lead by example and I just hope that my outlook, my personality, my skills and my smile will be a good role for those I encounter.
I know the importance of time management in regards to my academic and athletic schedule. I make sure that I maintain proper nutrition, health, and study habits to insure that I perform to the best of my ability in the classroom and on the court.
I have been actively involved with Partners for Quality, an organization committed to working with mentally and physically handicapped individuals. I am involved in their fundraising activities which include the Heart of Caring auction/luncheon and the Pittsburgh Fashion Story, which both host approximately 400 people. For the luncheon, I do ticket sales, monitor silent auction items and am one of the models for the live auction items. I am a runway model for the Fashion Story, which is held at the Duquesne University ballroom. Being involved with the organization enables me to get involved with those less fortunate than myself and has truly enlightened me in regards to my outlook of life. These individuals are the happiest, most pleasant and grateful people I have ever met and being able to share in their experiences has taught me so much about myself. I am very grateful for the experiences that I have had over the years and will continue to have for as long as I am able to participate.
