Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I was President of the French Club at my High School Junior year 2013
I am editor of our High School Monthly Newspaper "The Shield"
I have taken a "Leadership In Training" course at our town's Recreation Dept. and I have applied to be a summer camp counselor this summer 2014.
I was captain of my Middle School field hockey team in 8th grade
I was captain of my High School JV field hockey team in my sophomore year and was selected as MVP by my team mates in 2012.
I am currently captain of my High School Varsity field hockey team for the 2014 season

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I maintain a healthy diet as much as possible, I am aware of which foods are more beneficial to an athlete in training.
I like fast food but I don't eat it very much. I try to drink half my body weight in ounces of water (60 oz.) every day to keep myself hydrated.
I always push myself at training sessions, and usually lead the sprints.
Fitness is important to me, and I understand this is a life-long commitment.
Currently attended a strength training course at "San Jose Fitness Coach" to develop strength/agility, twice weekly thru February 2014.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

In December 2012 and 2013 I participated in the "Turning Wheels for Kids" program.
TurningWheels For Kids (TWFK) is a non-profit charitable organization that is run entirely by volunteers. TWFK raises funds year-round to purchase and provide fully assembled bikes, helmets and locks to underprivileged children during the holidays and to health-challenged children year-round. My job was assembling young children's bicycles for Christmas delivery. I plan to be involved again this year, because I think every kid should have a bike, to get outside and help them keep fit and healthy.
