Varsity Captain, Best Doubles Team

Tennis Additional

I'm a senior at Note Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, California. I'm Vice President of our school and Captain of our Girls' Varsity Tennis Team. I have competitively been playing tennis for three years. This is my second consecutive year on Varsity as a doubles player. I know three years doesn't sound like a lot of time or experience, but I have put an immense amount of time and 100% effort into my game, including training at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida for two and a half weeks this past summer.
I'm the type of student-athlete that is always ready for a new challenge and excited to fully complete it to the best of my abilities. I believe one of the most important aspects of being on a team is fully committing to each and every player on the team, not only yourself or the schedule. Because the effort that is put into every practice, team discussion, and match can effect the team as a whole. I'm a competitive athlete and I leave everything on the court whenever I play. When I lose, I learn from my mistakes and practice on correcting them. Honestly, I really dislike losing! Winning is great, but unless I learn something from my win, it's not truly a win. I'm the teammate who doesn't just want a win for herself; I'm the teammate that wants the win for the entire team, for our season, for our coach... For our school.
