Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

I have been nominated MVP of my team twice in the last 5 years. Next year I will be a senior captain. I have been nominated as a student athlete leader by my coach to represent my team at our school's Varsity Club. I have been a scholar athlete for every year I competed on Varsity Diving and Swimming.
I have participated in the DECA business club and competitions, and used leadership skills to work with my partners in the competitions.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I try and balance my athletic life with my school life, but I make time to dedicate myself to athletics. I have never been out of shape because I work hard to maintain it to be able to do what I do. I eat healthy, and make sure I eat whats necessary to keep me in shape to be ready to compete. I make sure I get enough sleep. I think I have a balanced lifestyle. I challenge myself in sports and school so I have time to do what I love.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

-Run a toiletry collection program to benefit the Bethany House, a shelter for women and children.
-Photofinish 5k for the Alle Shea Foundation- raising money for Osteogenesis Imperfecta.
-Ontario/Yates County Canandaigua Lake Swim- raising money for hospice care

These activities are important to me. The Alle Shea Foundation is headed by the man who runs our swim team timing board. His daughter died of Osteogenesis Imperfecta. We raise money for his foundation to help him raise awareness for this fatal disease. My family owns a cottage on Canandaigua Lake. I wanted to raise money for the hospice doing something I loved for a great service provided to families in need. Through my travels and my father's work travel, I am aware that many people are given complimentary toiletries at hotels that they bring home and don't use. This would be a good opportunity to help people in need.
