2015 FHSAA Class 2A State Champion-Gold Medalist
I hold leadership positions in many of my extracurricular activities around school. I am the president of the class of 2016. I am involved in Homecoming planning, Prom planning, and fundraising through student government. Additionally, I am the vice-president of Model United Nations at my school, which debates about international issues. Through Model UN, I am involved in service activities; a percentage of each of our funds raised goes to local NGOs to help the community. We organize guest speakers for the school and take field trips to local sustainable environment organizations in order to become more globally aware. On the field, I am the dive team captain. I am a leader at practice and at meets, encouraging the team and staying optimistic towards success.
A healthy athletic performance requires a healthy mind and body. I practice six days a week, two hours a day in order to stay in peak shape. I do conditioning and eat healthy to stay in shape. I also stay focused on school, in order to balance my athletic pursuits. I am in the IB program, an advanced internationally recognized set of courses. I love being involved in the extracurricular aspect of school and I am socially active in order to lead a balanced lifestyle.
I am involved in tutoring around the school, with a focus on math. I also volunteer at local elementary and middle schools, including Cape Elementary and Trafalgar Middle. I volunteered at the hospital during the summer of 2013 through the student volunteer program. I have helped at the scoring tables and with hospitality at various diving meets. I am a member of my school's IBPO organization, through which I have helped at garage sales, volunteered at school events, and created a tutoring program at my high school. During Flag Day, I volunteered at the Elk's Lodge through my Model UN program to help with the ceremony's organization.
