Additional Questions:
Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?
-
Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

As a pitcher, it's obvious I need to be a leader on the field both vocally and mentally. I know when I'm on the mound that I have to be the most mentally tough athlete on the field. I know my teammates look up to me because I can control the game, and I try to pick each of my teammates up by being the most intimate player on the field. I am also a leader off the field by making good decisons and studying very hard in school.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

As a student-athlete I know managing my time between school and softball is very important. I focus and work very hard in school, and also do work on the field to make my game better. I know getting enough sleep, eating, and drinking properly is key to staying heathy. Also as an athlete, I know to refuse the use of drugs, alcohol, and tobacco products.

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I am involved in the Spanish, Science, and Interact clubs at my school. I also help volunteer at the Clover Leaf Food Bank and South Hills Country Club. I have also helped volunteer at Miracle League; an organization made to help those with mental and physically disabilities play softball/baseball. I also help my aunt coach the Steel Center Special Olympics; another organization that helps those with disabilities plays various sports. It is important to me to give back to the community and to be generous to my neighbors and those around me.
