Why do you want to be recruited to play sports in college?

Athletes are often leaders on and off the field. Please provide one example of how you have demonstrated leadership in both areas.

Based on my commitment to hard work and encouragement to others on the team, I was voted Naperville North swim team captain for the 2015 season by a committee of teammates and coaches. I serve on the Top Dawg school leadership team and actively tutor students struggling in Mathematics and other subjects.

Please explain how you pursue "healthy athletic performance" as a student-athlete.

I'm able to maintain a healthy life balance between studies, swim training and competition, and being with my friends. The hard swimming training allows me to take a break and relax from the stress of studying, and keeps me loose and fun loving with my friends. I don't want to be too deeply concentrated in either swimming or studying, but being busy in each of those makes me appreciate my friends even more!

Please describe how you are involved in service in your community and why these efforts are important to you.

I provide complimentary tutoring services to my high school classmates, and take great pride in seeing their confidence build as they improve their subject matter understanding. I also give swimming lessons to small children in my neighborhood to help them lose their fear of the water. My neighbor's 7 year old daughter placed very high in the Naperville City club swimming championship after being afraid to put her head underwater when we started our lessons.
