College is important to me and something I am working hard for every day. Also, my father was a 2 sports guy in high school and my mother was a collegiate athlete (Volley Ball) for NC Central University. I want to follow in their footsteps.
This year I have accepted the role of being a captain on my team, which is something I take very seriously. I was born to be a leader and my goal is to lead in the right way and be a role model for those that will come after me as well as my younger sister who looks up to me.
I make sure I take really good of my body from a physically and mentally. When I think about "healthy athletic performance", I think about the mental aspect as well as physical. It is important for me to feed my brain with knowledge as well as my body with proper nutrients. Too me, all those things place a huge role in athletic performance.
Giving back to the community is very important. I love being involved in my community because those people are the same people that have supported me throughout my career with East Meck. So it is my duty to show my appreciation for any chance I get.
